There is silence in sunrises.
A sunrise is the only reason I would want to be up at five in the morning. Because within that time there are no cars scattering along the roads, there are no people clogging the side walks as their voices fill the air, there are no phones taking calls and no televisions on giving the morning news. There is only the sun starting it’s shift and birds flying in search of their worm. The moment of seeing the sun rise has always been a sacred fragment of time for me because watching physical light silently glide up over the hills, cross onto buildings, reflect onto ponds, and touch darkness is what makes life beautiful. There is silence in a sunrise because the noise of the world has yet to wake up from it’s sleep.
